1952–53 Romanian Hockey League season

The 1952-53 Romanian Hockey League season was the 25th season of the Romanian Hockey League. Six teams participated in the league, and CCA Bucuresti won the championship.[1]

First round

Group I

Participants: Avantul Miercurea Ciuc, Progresul Miercurea Ciuc, Spartak Miercurea Ciuc, Spartak Gherogheni, Stiinta Galati.

  • Avantul Miercurea Ciuc - Spartak Miercurea Ciuc 30:1

Avantul advanced to the final round.

Group II

Participants: Spartak Targu Mures, Constructorul Targu Mures, Stiinta Cluj, Progresul Odorhei, Avintul Reghin, Avintul Sebes, Flacara Tirnaveni.

  • Stiinta Cluj - Avintul Reghin 32:0

Spartak Targu Mures and Stiinta Cluj advanced to the final round.

Group III

Participants: CCA Bucuresti, Dinamo Bucuresti, Bere Rahova Bucharest, Flamura Rosie Bucharest, Sovromtractorul Brasov, Santierul Brasov, Steagul Rosu Brasov, Spartak Sighisoara.

  • Steagul Rosu Brasov - Spartak Sighisoara 12:0
  • CCA Bucuresti - Spartak Bucuresti 17:0

CCA, Dinamo, and Steagul Rosu advanced to the final round.

National Championship

First round

The first three games were played in Bucharest on January 28, 1953. However, the ice then melted, and the championship was relocated to Miercurea Ciuc, with games recommencing on February 4.

Final round

The final round was held in Cluj, starting on February 11. After the game between Avantul and Steagul Rosu on February 13, rain began to fall, preventing the continuation of the championship. As winners of the first round, CCA Bucuresti was awarded the national title.
