The 1949-50 Romanian Hockey League season was the 22nd season of the Romanian Hockey League. Four teams participated in the league, and RATA Targu Mures won the championship.

There were new regulations adopted for the season, most notably ones allowing substitution during play (this had only been allowed during stoppages before) and increasing the maximum number of players per team to 15.

National Championship

The national championship took place from January 9-15, 1950, in Brasov.

First round

Group I (1/9-11)
  • RATA Targu Mures - SISP Tarnaveni 15:0 (1:0, 7:0, 7:0)
  • RATA Targu Mures - Petrolul Bucharest 6:1 (0:0, 2:1, 4:0)
  • Petrolul Bucharest - SISP Tarnaveni 13:1 (1:0, 5:1, 7:0)

RATA and Petrolul advanced to the final round.

Group II (1/9-11)
  • Avantul Miercurea Ciuc - Steagul Rosu Brasov 3:0 (2:0, 1:0, 0:0)
  • CSU Cluj - CFR Sighisoara 7:1 (1:0, 1:1, 5:0) - became 3:0 forfeit win for Sighisoara
  • Avantul Miercurea Ciuc - CSU Cluj 12:1 (6:0, 2:0, 4:1) - became 3:0 forfeit win for Avantul
  • Steagul Rosu Brasov - CFR Sighisoara 11:1 (2:0, 3:1, 6:0)
  • Avantul Miercurea Ciuc - CFR Sighisoara 19:1 (8:0, 5:0, 6:1)
  • Steagul Rosu Brasov - CSU Cluj 0:2 (0:1, 0:1, 0:0) - became 3:0 forfeit win for Steagul. Brasov protested the results of the match, claiming that Turcu, Heintz, and Raduch of Cluj were registered with a Cluj army club. The federation ruled in favor of Brasov, and awarded them the game by default. Cluj's other two games were also ruled forfeit losses.

The Cities Cup (Cupa oraselor) was played in Bucharest from January 25-30, 1950. It was won by Miercurea Ciuc.
