The 1948-49 Romanian Hockey League season was the 21st season of the Romanian Hockey League. Six teams participated in the league, and Avintul IPEIL Miercurea Ciuc won the championship.[1]

The federation decided that the winners of the Brasov, Bucharest, Cluj, Miercurea Ciuc, and Targu Mures regional championships would qualify for the national championship, along with one more team that won a qualification series.

Regional Championships

Brasov Championship

The championship was played from December 26-30, 1948. The following teams participated in the competition: Tractorul Brasov, CFR Sighisoara, CFR Alba Iulia, and Vasile Roaita-Tirnaveni.

Bucharest Championship

The championship was played from December 30, 1948, to January 6, 1949. The second game between Petrolul and Dinamo was rescheduled to February 6, due to thaw.

Cluj Championship

Dermata Cluj qualified for the national championship automatically, as the only team entered in the competition.

Miercurea Ciuc Championship

Avintul IPEIL Miercurea Ciuc qualified for the national championship automatically, as the only team entered in the competition.

Targu Mures Championship

RATA Targu Mures qualified for the national championship automatically, as the only team entered in the competition.

Qualifiers

The qualifiers for the national championship were played in Brasov.

Dinamo Bucharest qualified for the national championship.

National Championship

The national championship was played in Targu Mures from January 26 to February 2, 1949.

Cupa Romaniei

The Cupa Romaniei was played in Brasov from January 15-19, 1949. The participants were Cluj, Targu Mures, Miercurea Ciuc, Sighisoara, Bucharest, and Brasov. The Bucharest team, composed of players from the Dinamo and Petrolul clubs, won the tournament.
