Overview
The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 46th time. The Pirates, Demons, Blackhawks, Tigers, Monarchs, and Hakoah participated. The title was won by the Dandenong Blackhawks.
The 37th New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. The Prague Bombers, Glebe Lions, St. George, and East Monarchs competed. The Glebe Lions won the Championship.
The 40th Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged in late July and early August, 1966. Victoria won the cup.
The sixth Australian National Club Championship was played. It was won by the Glebe Lions, who defeated the Dandenong Blackhawks.
