This was the 1952 ice hockey season in Australia:

Overview

The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 33rd time. The participating teams were the Pirates, Monarchs, Tigers, Red Arrows, Golden Bears, Raiders, Blackhawks, Demons, and Wildcats. The title was won by the Bendigo Raiders.

The 31st Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged. Tasmania also joined the competition for the first time. Victoria won the cup, defeating both opponents.

The 26th New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. The Eastern Suburbs Monarchs, St. George Dragons, Prague Bombers, Glebe Lions, and Western Suburbs Tigers competed. The Prague Bombers won the championship.

In Tasmania, the Comets, Mustangs, and the Red Devils faced one another as they vied for the Glaciarium Cup.

There was also a "Lightning Premiership" contested on September 4, featuring all nine teams in the Victorian Championships. The games were 15 minutes long with a 30 minute grand final. The Golden Bears won the competition.[18]

Other games
  • 3/6: Australia - New Zealand 6:1 - this was a game featuring teams composed of Korean War soldiers, played on the Imjin River. Brigadier General J. Rockingham, commander of the Canadian forces, presented the winners with a giant chocolate-covered doughnut.[41]

The Melbourne Wildcats traveled to Tasmania to face the local Mustangs team for two games at the Hobart Glaciarium in Moonah.
