Overview

The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 16th time. The participants were Brighton, Essendon, Hawthorn, and St. Kilda. The title was won by Hawthorn.

The 15th Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged in August 1930. It was won by New South Wales, 3-games-to-none.

The ninth New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. St. George (who replaced North Sydney), Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs, and the Glebe Lions competed. St. George won the championship. A reserve grade competition featuring the same clubs was also contested.
