Overview
The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 29th time. The title was won by the Monarchs. The Victorian Ice Hockey League was staged for the first time and won by the Wildcats.
The 27th Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged from August 7-9, 1948. New South Wales won the cup.
The 22nd New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. St. George, Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs, and the Glebe Lions competed. There were also some inter-rink games between the Glaciarium and Ice Palais.
