Overview
The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 52nd time. The title was won by the Monarchs.
The 43rd New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. The Warringah Bombers won the championship.
The 46th Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged from August 6-8, 1972. Victoria won the cup.
The 12th Australian National Club Championship was played. It was won by the Monarchs.
