Overview
The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 32nd time. The title was won by the Bendigo Raiders.
The 30th Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged. Victoria won the cup.
The 25th New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. The St. George Dragons, Eastern Suburbs (Monarchs), Western Suburbs (Tigers), and the Glebe Comets competed.
