Overview

The Victorian Championship series in Melbourne was held for the 32nd time. The title was won by the Bendigo Raiders.

The 30th Goodall Cup Inter-State Series between Victoria and New South Wales was staged. Victoria won the cup, defeating NSW in all four matches played.

The 25th New South Wales Championship took place in Sydney. The St. George Dragons, Eastern Suburbs (Monarchs), Western Suburbs (Tigers), and the Glebe Lions competed.

In Tasmania, the Comets, Mustangs, and the Red Devils faced one another as they vied for the Glaciarium Cup. There was also a competition staged in Western Australia featuring the Collegians, Magpies, Penguins and the Western Dodgers.
