The 1989 Goodall Cup was the 63rd edition of the inter-state ice hockey series in Australia. New South Wales won the cup for the 33rd time in total. The competition was held at the Adelaide Ice Arena. Arto Malste of South Australia won the John Nicholas Trophy as the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament.
