1936 Goodall Cup
The 1936 Goodall Cup was the 21st edition of the inter-state series between Victoria and New South Wales. It was won by New South Wales, who claimed the championship for the 16th time in total. They would retain the trophy until 1947.

"New South Wales last night defeated Victoria by two goals to nil and retained the Goodall Cup at the interstate ice hockey carnival at the Glaciarium. From first ice, Critchley and Callaway, Victorian defence, were in fine form... The visitors scored twice before the end of the first 15 minute period. New South Wales had the better of the period... Play was far more even in the next period, and there was not another goal scored ... chances looked poor when a little before the end of the period, Moller, who had been effective in the ... made spectacular attempts to score. Critchley was clearing well with long shots. The opposing goalie, young McCabe, saved like a veteran, as he coolly turned attackes, often with one foot... the experience of their two forwards, Norman Turner (captain) and Percy Wendt. Both Moore and Went were penalised. The third and last period opened with New South Wales still attacking. Victoria had a fair share of the play ... No changes were made in the score. Victoria nevertheless gave one of its best displays since it last won in 1922."
