New South Wales with the Goodall Cup.

The 1981 Goodall Cup was the 55th edition of the inter-state ice hockey series in Australia. New South Wales won the cup for the 28th time. They defeated South Australia 9-4 in the final at Payneham Ice Arena in Adelaide to claim the trophy. Ross MacEachern of Victoria won the John Nicholas Trophy as the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament.
