The 1961 Goodall Cup was the 35th edition of the inter-state series between Victoria and New South Wales. It was won by Victoria, who claimed the championship for the 12th time in total.

The tournament was played at the Prince Alfred Park in Sydney from August 7-9, 1961. It was the first time the Goodall Cup was held since 1955.
