The 1965-66 II gruppa season was the 16th season of the II gruppa, the second level of ice hockey in the Soviet Union. 26 teams participated in the league, and Torpedo Minsk won the Western Group while Metallurg Novokuznetsk claimed the Eastern Group. Both teams were promoted to the Soviet Championship League.
