1957–58 Serie A (ice hockey) season
The 1957-58 Serie A season was the 24th season of the Serie A, the top level of ice hockey in Italy. Six teams participated in the league, and HC Milan Inter won the championship.
Season Overview
HC Milan Inter dominated the league en route to an undefeated season and national championship, finishing three points ahead of defending champions SG Cortina.
In the first Bolzano derby between HC and Scoiattoli, a fight between Giorgio Zerbetto and Claudio Battisti erupted with seven minutes remaining and HC up 12-2. The brawl had to be broken up by the police and Zerbetto ended up in the hospital, while the goaltender Danielo Scienza was ejected by referee Renato Besostri. Scoiattoli kicked Scienza off the team, and he was later suspended indefinitely by the FISG. The federation also condemned the actions of Zerbetto and Giulanio Frigo, and stated that the issues must not happen again.
