The St. Paul Victorias won the league title and the Dunbar Cup, after the league committee elected to name them champions.

A St. Paul All-Star faced the Portage Lakes Hockey Club in Houghton, Michigan, and the World's Fair Hockey Club in St. Louis, Missouri, this winter. The Duluth Centrals also played Portage Lakes in Houghton. The Duluth Zeniths planned a trip to Houghton too, but wound up not going.

St. Louis, Missouri

The St. Louis Hockey League featured three new teams for the 1902-03 season. The World's Fair Hockey Club (thus named as the World's Fair was coming to St. Louis in 1904), which was composed of many of the Association Football Hockey Club's former players, Webster Groves, and the Ice Palace club were the new teams, which joined the St. Louis AAA in the league. The World's Fair club won the championship, dominating the league.

The World's Fair Hockey Club paid a visit to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in late January, where they got thrashed by the strong Portage Lakes Hockey Club. The Cleveland Hockey Club came to St. Louis in mid-February to play three games against the local teams. The World's Fair club won the Championship of the Midwest by defeating them. They hoped to face Pittsburgh in St. Louis for the Western Championship. The St. Paul All-Stars later came to St. Louis, for a three game series against World's Fair.

The St. Louis Ice Palace closed in 1903, leaving the city without an ice rink.
