The 1935-36 Austrian Hockey Championship was the 14th season of the Austrian Hockey Championship. The State Championship, which was going to pit the Vienna champion, EK Engelmann Wien, against the Provincial champion, Klagenfurter AC, was cancelled.
Due to the mild winter in Klagenfurt, the federation wished for KAC to come to Vienna to play Engelmann, as there was artificial ice in the city. The dates proposed for the games were March 6 and 7 and March 17 and 18, 1936. KAC refused to travel to Vienna on these dates, and Engelmann was awarded the Austrian Championship for 1936.
Many games were affected by the mild temperatures in the Provincial Championship in 1935-36. Only one game was played in the Provincial 2. Klasse before both divisions were abandoned.

Due to the mild winter in the region, many games were forced to be postponed. The OEHV offered to pay for train tickets to allow the clubs to travel to Vienna and complete the unplayed games on an artificial rink in the capital of Vienna. Innsbruck and Leoben refused the offer and the outstanding games were counted as 0:0 in goals with 0 points being awarded after a resolution was made by the federation on March 10, 1936. Klagenfurt thus finished first and qualified for the State Championship.
