Sportsektion Merkur im Gewerkschaftsbund was an ice hockey team from the 16th District (Ottakring) of Vienna, Austria. The club was the successor to the worker's organization, Zentralverein der kaufmännischen Angestellten, which had been banned along with all others by the Austrian government in February 1934.

Merkur joined the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation (OEHV) on November 13, 1934 and played in the 2.b Klasse of the Vienna Championship for 1934-35. They went on to play in the 2. Klasse the following year and the 1. Klasse from 1936 to 1938.

The club celebrated the 10th anniversary of its original foundation (as Zentralverein) in January 1938. Three active players (Petterlik, Racek, and Sturma) from the beginning remained. A cup tournament organized by Merkur was the highlight of the celebrations.
