HC Währing
Hockeyclub Währing was an ice hockey team situated in the Währing district of Vienna, Austria. It was founded in 1925 as the Währinger Jugendspiel-Verein, a youth club within the Vienna Youth Welfare Association.
The club was admitted into the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation in January 1926.
In 1926-27, Währing played in Group III of the Austrian Hockey Championship's 2. Klasse. They won the group and earned a spot in the 2. Klasse Group A the following year. In October 1928, they were renamed Eishockeyclub Währing
The club then played in the 2. Klasse through the 1929-30 season, when they earned promotion to the top-level 1. Klasse. They adopted the name Hockeyclub Währing in December 1930. Währing finished third overall in the league in 1932.
Austrian hockey was restructured for the 1932-33 season, with the club joining the 1. Klasse of the Vienna Championship. They played in the 1. Klasse through the 1935-36 season (even after it had been dropped to the second tier), when they won the league and were promoted to the Liga.
In December 1936, all players from the club moved over to Wiener EV. The club then folded officially on December 21, with the second team of WEV taking over their spot in the Liga.
