History of hockey in Colombia
The Colombian Ice Hockey Federation is the governing body for ice hockey in the country. Colombia became an IIHF member on September 26, 2019.[1]
The country fielded a national ice hockey team, composed primarily of inline hockey players, that played in the Pan American Ice Hockey Tournament annually from 2014-2017. The team won gold in 2015 and 2016. They fielded yellow and red teams in 2017. The yellow team lost to Mexico in the final. Colombia won the gold medal at the 2018 Amerigol Latam Cup, and finished as runners up at the 2019 tournament.
A women's team also participated in the 2015 Pan American female tournament, finishing second. They finished fourth in 2016 and second in 2017. The women's team came in second at the 2019 Amerigol Latam Cup.[2]
