History of hockey in Newfoundland

The Newfoundland Hockey Association was the governing body of ice hockey in the country.

Newfoundland was admitted to the IIHF on February 19, 1933, but was expelled in 1936.

After joining the IIHF, Newfoundland had planned to send a team to the 1934 World Championships in Milan, composed of players from the local hockey leagues, but the conditions that winter made it impracticable to carry out the plans for the European trip.[1]
