History of hockey in Morocco
The Moroccan Ice Hockey Association is the governing body of ice hockey in the country. Morocco joined the IIHF on May 22, 2010.[1]
Morocco's first ice rink opened at the MegaMall in Rabat in 2005. Mrini Khalid, president of the national federation, created the first ice hockey club in the country, the Capitals de Rabat. With the help of his brother and a few players, he opened a hockey school as well. The Capitals participated in the prestigious Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament in 2006.
