Belgian Division I is the second level of ice hockey in Belgium. The league is one rank below the Belgian Hockey League. For the 2012-2013 season it was merged with two teams of the defunct North Sea Cup to become the "Belgian Elite League".
The competition was known as the Belgian Division I until the 2009-10 season, when it merged with the Belgian Division II to form the Belgian National League.
The National League was restarted for the 2014-15 season. In 2016-17, Belgian Division II was re-started as the third-level league.
