The 1.Liga is the fourth level of ice hockey in Switzerland and the highest level of amateur hockey of the country. It was the third-level competition until 2017-18, when the MySports League was founded as the new third-tier league.
The 1.Liga is divided in two divisions: Eastern and Western. Until 2018-19, it was divided in three divisions: Ostschweiz (East Switzerland; OS), 13 teams; Zentralschweiz (Central Switzerland; ZS), 12 teams and Suisse Romande (Romandie, SR), 12 teams.
