Junior hockey in Slovenia currently consists of leagues ranging from U13 to U19. They are governed by the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia.

In 2009-10 and 2010-11, the U20 (Mladinci) classification operated as a U19 competition. In 2011-12 and 2012-13, the competitions between U13 and U17 were contested as odd-ages, rather than the usual even. They reverted back to even for the 2013-14 season. Starting in 2015-16, the Mladinci league was again played at the U19 level, and the other leagues switched to that format again for 2019-20.

A "hockey school" league is recorded to have been held during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
