This was the 1928-29 season in Soviet bandy:

Leningrad Championship

The Leningrad Championship was played for the seventh consecutive season. 39 teams were divided into five groups of play.

Group 1

The competition was played from December 26 to March 11. Stadium was renamed CDFK Leningrad.

Promotion/Relegation

The winner of Group 2, LOSSPS, and Textilschiki finished tied with four points apiece (one game was a 3-0 win for LOSSPS). According to the regulations, LOSSPS qualified for Group 1 as they were the team from the lower division.

Moscow Championship

The Moscow Championship was contested for the seventh time in 1929. 39 teams were divided into six groups of play. The first group competition was staged from December 23 to March 18. A women's championship was also held and was won by Trekhgorka.

OPV became CDKA Moscow this season.

A rather unusual points system was used - 24 points for a victory, 16 points for a draw, and 8 points for a loss.
