Junior hockey in Belarus
Junior hockey in Belarus currently has leagues ranging from 10 and under to 18 and under.
Teams from Latvia, Lithuania, and Ukraine have also participated in the various age groups over the years. The Latvian teams in particular have enjoyed success historically, winning titles in the U14 through U18 competitions.
Nearly all the teams who play in the junior leagues are the junior sections of established, professional clubs.
The first Junior Championship was held in 1992-93. It featured four teams and was won by Yunost Minsk. From 1995-2003, Belarusian junior teams participated in the Eastern European Hockey League.
Belarus withdrew its junior teams from the multi-national EEHL in 2004 and the national junior championships were restarted.
