Junior hockey in Russia currently consists of national championships ranging from U13 to U21. They are organized by the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia.
The Minor Hockey League, a multi-national league spanning four nations (and as many as seven in the past), has been the top level junior (currently U21) league since the 2009-10 season. It also consists of a second league, the Minor Hockey League Division B.
The younger age groups consist of regional championships, with the top teams meeting in the national final to crown the season's national champion.
The YUHL was formed as the U19 league in 2013. It was contested as a U18 league in 2014 and 2015.
