Leningrad Championship
The Leningrad Championship was played for the fifth consecutive season. 14 teams were divided into A and B groups. In addition, a championship was held among trade unions, in which companies participated. A women's championship was also played for the first time.

Group A was won by Vasileostrovsky RSK, who finished with 67 points. Dynamo Leningrad won Group B.
Moscow Championship
The Moscow Championship was contested for the fifth time in 1927. 23 teams were divided into six groups of play. The MGSPS organized the championship. The first group competition was staged from December 19 to February 27. In the first group, Central House of Physical Culture was replaced by Trekhgorka, while Krasnaya Presnya was renamed Pishevik.

A rather unusual points system was used - 24 points for a victory, 16 points for a draw, and 8 points for a loss.
Dynamo Moscow won first place in the second group, but in the club competition the victory was achieved by Sovtorgrsluzhashchie, who advanced to the promotion/relegation round.
