The 1972-73 Klass A group 2 season is the 1972-73 season of the Vtoraya Liga.

A new rule established on that year forces the teams taking part in the Klass A group 2 leagues to align at least three players younger than 18 years old and at most six players over 27 years old.

Final results

SKA Kuybyshev and Khimik Omsk (formerly Kauchuk Omsk) are promoted to the Pervaya Liga. Textilchic Pavlov Pasod and Alumininshchik Novokuznetsk are relegated to the Klass B.
