Final results
Dynamo Minsk and Metallurg Chelyabinsk are promoted to the Klass A group 1. Vimpel Zhukovsky and SKA Khabarovsk are relegated to the Klass B.
This season marked the renaming of Torpedo Minsk to Dynamo Minsk, thus becoming a Dynamo Moscow affiliate. Very little changes were noted, and the team still did not feature more than one Belorussian player (Anatoli Varivonchik). However, the arrival of Vitali Stain made a world of a difference and brought the team up to the Klass A group 1 in his first season as the head coach of the team.
