This was the 1927-28 American ice hockey season:

Leagues

Olympic Games

1928 Augsburg.png

The Augsburg College team was set to represent the United States in the 1928 Winter Olympics. However, the US wound up withdrawing from the tournament, as Major-General Douglas MacArthur of the American Olympic Committee felt Augsburg was not sufficiently representative, and William S. Haddock, president of the United States Amateur Hockey Association, refused to send another team to compete. In early January, it was noted that the Rochester Hockey Club was also being considered as the American representative. Haddock had also hoped that Eveleth would compete in the tournament.
