The United States Amateur Hockey Association returned for its second season of play in 1921-22. 14 teams, divided into three divisions, competed in the league.

Chicago, Illinois

There were six teams in the Chicago Hockey Association in 1921-22, DePaul University, Illinois Athletic Club, Canadian Club, Edgewater Beach Hotel, Chicago Beach Hotel, and Hinsdale Hockey Club. The Rogers Park Skating Club was initially slated to compete, butwound up withdrawing.

The North Shore League was composed of Evanston, Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, and Lake Forest.

Cleveland, Ohio

The Cleveland Hockey Club once again competed in the United States Amateur Hockey Association, and also played a busy schedule of exhibition games. They competed in the 1922 Winnipeg Carnival (as did a team from Duluth, MN).

Massachusetts

Boston had three teams in the United States Amateur Hockey Association this winter - Boston Athletic Association, Boston Pere Marquette, and Boston Westminster, who went on to win the national title. To qualify for the USAHA, there was an elimination series played, with the Melrose Hockey Club failing to make the cut.

Wisconsin

The Milwaukee Drueckers

The Milwaukee Municipal Hockey League was contested and won by the Drueckers, who were composed of players from the Racine Webster Electric Co. The Castle Ice Gardens artifical rink opened in Milwaukee on March 15, 1922. It was said to be one of the largest rinks in the United States, with a playing surface of 21,000 square feet. Another competition, known as the Milwaukee Hockey League, began play at the rink in late March.
