"USC went undefeated (5-0) in 1928. They were able to resume playing UCLA and took two games from the Bruins and three from the Occidental Tigers. That year UCLA had to replace its experienced hockey practitioners. The Bruins defeated the purple and grey Southwestern University team at Big Bear Lake, lost two of three games to Occidental, defeated a Palais de Glace team, and ended with a record of 3-4."
