The 1956-57 Suomi-sarja season was contested as the second tier of Finnish hockey. 20 teams participated in the league, and KalPa Kuopio won the championship and was promoted alongside HIFK Helsinki.

Regular season

The league was divided into four groups, the winners qualifying for promotion to the SM-sarja.
