The 1969-70 RSFSR Winter Games were held in lieu of the RSFSR Championship.

Played February 7-14 in Kazan. Participating teams: Group 1: Gorky, Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Kuibyshev region, Mari ASSR. Group 2: Ivanovo, Kalinin and Saratov region, the Chuvash and Tatar ASSR.

Gorky qualified for the final, which was due to be played in March in Chelyabinsk.

Played February 1-12 in Perm. Participating teams: Group 1: Chelyabinsk, Perm, Kurgan, Tyumen. Group 2: Glazov, other unknown teams.
