(*In early January, Partizan added the Canadian Jim O'Neill, who was in Belgrade working for the Canadian Embassy, to their roster. The Serbian federation consented to his participation but the Yugoslav federation disagreed, as it was required for a foreigner to have been in the country for at least six months prior to being eligible, which was not the case with O'Neill. The federation eventually allowed him to participate, with the stipulation that if any opponents filed a protest, the game against them would be recorded as a forfeit defeat. Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Jesenice protested the presence of O'Neill and thus were awarded 6-0 forfeit victories over Partizan. Red Star and Mladost did not protest, and therefore their defeats to Partizan were upheld.)
