1952–53 RSFSR Championship season

The 1952-53 RSFSR Championship season was divided into multiple regional groups to start. The top teams from the regional groups advanced to play in the final tournament.

First round

Dynamo Omsk declined to participate in the final round, and were replaced by Spartak Krasnoyarsk, who had not taken part in the qualification round.
