The United States Amateur Hockey Association returned for its second season of play in 1921-22. 14 teams, divided into three divisions, competed in the league.
Chicago, Illinois
There were six teams in the Chicago Hockey Association in 1921-22, DePaul University, Illinois Athletic Club, Canadian Club, Edgewater Beach Hotel, Chicago Beach Hotel, and Hinsdale Hockey Club. The Rogers Park Skating Club was initially slated to compete, butwound up withdrawing.
The North Shore League was composed of Evanston, Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, and Lake Forest.

Boston had three teams in the United States Amateur Hockey Association this winter - Boston Athletic Association, Boston Pere Marquette, and Boston Westminster, who went on to win the national title. To qualify for the USAHA, there was an elimination series played, with the Melrose Hockey Club failing to make the cut.
