The Chinese Ice Hockey Championship is the national ice hockey championship in China. It was founded in 1955.[1] It is made up solely of amateur teams. The championship was long dominated by two teams, Harbin and Qiqihar.

In June 2019, it was announced that China was planning to launch a professional league for the 2019-20 season. However, the competition did not get off the ground until the 2024-25 season, with the Beijing Lions capturing the inaugural championship.

HC Kunlun Red Star has participated in the Kontinental Hockey League since the 2016-17 season. China Dragon formerly competed in the Asia League.

Until 2017, there were two separate competitions staged in China. The Chinese National League was contested for much of the year, while the overall National Championship was staged at the end of the season.[2]
