Maine

The Waterville and Lewiston St. Dominique teams played a series for the Maine State Championship in 1928-29.

Montana

Team roster: Beaudin (1G), Doncous, Leo-Paul Gauthier (4G, 1A), Hamel, Lapointe, Percival (1G, 1A), Ruel, Therrien (1A), Joe Maltais (goaltender).

New York

Some notable independent teams in New York this winter included the Nichols, Rochester, Lake Placid and Speculator (Albany) clubs.

Spokane, Washington

The Spokane Hockey Club (also known as the Majestics) and the Couer d'Alene, Idaho, Eskimos played a series of games again this winter. Starting in January, they competed for the L.M. Davenport Trophy. The series was not completed. Another team known as the Mohawks was formed in Spokane in January, and announced their intentions to play for the Davenport Trophy as well, but did not wind up appearing in any games.

The Dallas Ice Kings and San Antonio Blue Streaks faced one another for the Texas State Championship. The Blue Streaks also won the local San Antonio title, beating the Brooks Field Maroons and Kelly-Maverick Rangers.
