The Scottish League Select was a team assembled by the Scottish Ice Hockey Association to play international matches, mostly against English opposition. The club was selected from a pool of Scottish National League players, but deemed to be weaker than a full national side.
The Select team was first formed in 1932 to embark on an eight-game tour of England, starting on January 1 and concluding on the 9th. It went on to play numerous other matches in the coming years.
In March 1939, they played five games against the world champion Canadian side, the Trail Smoke Eaters, at multiple rinks around Scotland.
