The Saskatchewan Hockey League was played in Saskatchewan from 1904 to 1909. In 1909-10, the Saskatchewan Professional Hockey League began.

History

In 1904, the Saskatchewan Hockey League was founded. It was initially comprised of teams from Duck Lake, Prince Albert, Rosthern, and Saskatoon. The Eastern Assiniboia Hockey League was also established, featuring teams in Regina, Moose Jaw, and Indian Head. For 1905, the Eastern League was replaced by the Territorial League, and Lumsden assumed the place of Indian Head in the competition.

In 1906, Regina and Moose Jaw joined the Manitoba and Northwest Hockey Association Intermediate League. The Saskatchewan Hockey League was renamed the North Saskatchewan Hockey League, and the Eastern Saskatchewan Hockey League was formed with teams in Moosomin, Indian Head, Qu'Appelle, Wolesley, and Whitewood.

A new competition named the Saskatchewan Hockey League emerged in 1907, featuring a seven-team Eastern Series and a Western Series with Regina and Moose Jaw in it. Neither the North Saskatchewan nor the Saskatchewan leagues operated in 1908. The Eastern Saskatchewan League did resume play, however.

In 1909, Moosomin played in the Manitoba and Northwest League. The Central Saskatchewan Hockey League began play with teams from Regina, Moose Jaw, and Qu'Appelle. There was also a Northern Saskatchewan Championship played between the Saskatoon Strathconas and Prince Albert.

  • 1908: East Saskatchewan League: Balgonie, Grenfell, Indian Head, Moosomin, Qu'Appelle, Wolesley
  • 1909: Central Saskatchewan League: Regina, Moose Jaw, Qu'Appelle
