Josef "Boban" Sroubek (December 2, 1891 – August 29, 1964) was a Czechoslovak/Bohemian ice hockey player.

Biography

Sroubek was among the top Bohemian/Czechoslovak players prior to World War II. He enjoyed a long club career, predominantly in his native Prague. He did spend the 1916-17 season playing in Vienna with Sportklub Slovan and also played for Wisla Krakow in Poland in 1930-31.

Internationally, he made 43 appearance for the Bohemian and later the Czechoslovak national team, scoring 22 goals. He was the team captain for Czechoslovakia at the Olympic Games in 1920, 1924, and 1928.

Sroubek was a noted ladies man who also enjoyed a stellar football career (he played internationally in that sport as well).
