Prague is the capital city of Czech Republic. The proper city is home to some 1,2 million people; the metropolitan area to about 700,000 more. The city was founded in the latter part of the 9th century, but was inhabited by Celtic and Germanic tribes as far back as 200 BC. Prague is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cities of Europe.
