Jan Maria Fleischmann (July 6, 1885 – September 23, 1939) was a Czechoslovak/Bohemian ice hockey player.
Biography
He initially played bandy at the turn of the 20th century but later switched to ice hockey. He enjoyed a long club career with SK Slavia Praha, and continued playing until 1936.
Internationally, he was a member of the Bohemian National Team at the Ice Hockey European Championships on four occasions from 1911 to 1914. He also represented Bohemia at the LIHG Championships in 1913 and 1914.
Fleischmann later appeared for the Czechoslovak National Team at the 1924 Winter Olympics. At 38, he was the oldest member of the team.
He served as president of the Czechoslovak Ice Hockey Federation on two separate occasions in the 1920s (1921-23 and 1925-27). Fleischmann co-founded CsŠK Košice with Jan Rezac in 1921.
A lawyer who hailed from an esteemed family, he was the older brother of fellow hockey player Miloslav Fleischmann. He succumbed on September 23, 1939, at the age of 54, following a prolonged illness
