The 2000 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred as the 2000 World Junior Hockey Championships (2000 WJHC), was the 24th edition of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. The tournament was hosted in Skellefteå and Umeå, Sweden from December 25, 1999 to January 4, 2000. The Czech Republic won the gold medal with a 1–0 shootout victory over Russia in the championship game, while Canada won the bronze medal with a 4–3 shootout victory over the United States.
