After playing 4 of the 6 scheduled matches, the PZHL decided to change the rules of the competition so that the champion and runner-up of the southern group would play four matches against each other, and the winner of these matches would face the winner of the Włókniarz - Boruta pairing in a four-match final. In the matches before the rule change, Fortuna lost twice on their home ice to Górnik Murcki, so Górnik only needed a draw in their remaining two home matches to advance. Włókniarz became the second finalist.
Murcki won the final series and was promoted to the Polska Liga Hokejowa.
