The 1962-63 Promozione season was the 18th recorded edition of the second-level Italian competition. HC Alleghe won the championship.
First round
- Group A
The teams played a double round-robin (eight matches apiece). HC Torino went undefeated during group play.

HC Alleghe advanced over SG Cortina B, as they had a better goal differential.

Won by SV Ritten.
Final round
- HC Alleghe - HC Torino 4:3 (2:0, 1:2, 1:1)
- HC Alleghe - SV Ritten 7:4
- HC Torino - SV Ritten 8:0
HC Alleghe declined promotion to the Serie A, feeling they would be unable to obtain the foreign players needed to compete at that level, so Torino was promoted in their place.
